GW6 FPL captain picks

Gameweek 19 captain tips Fantasy Premier League

Two out of five FPL captain tips that I provided last GW delivered and I am looking to do better in the GW6.Top teams were involved in midweek UCL and Europa League action and some of them used that as a good opportunity to boost their confidence (Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham) while others disappointed (Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal) by losing matches they really shouldn’t. How is that reflecting on our GW6 FPL captain choices? Keep reading this article where I present my top 5 list of GW6 FPL captain candidates.

Top 5 FPL captain tips in gameweek 6

There are couple of interesting matches in this round, but Chelsea – Arsenal derby will draw the most attention. Are there any interesting FPL captain candidates in that match? Given the fact both defences didn’t impress so far goals are expected in this one. Who is going to shine. Pedro looked great in his first couple of matches but he is unavailable due to the injury. Hazard looks completely out of form and confidence which leaves only two players to consider: Costa and Fabregas. For my first FPL captain tip in the following GW I am recommending Diego Costa.

Diego Costa, Chelsea

Costa and Fabregas scored yesterday in UCL match and I expect them to carry the momentum in the Saturday EPL match. Oscar also scored yesterday and he will likely start on Saturday as well with Willian and Pedro sidelined, but he is a really inconsistent player and not many FPL mangers own him. Fabregas shouid be extra motivated against his former team, but I like Costa better. He is the most likely scorer in this match due to his determination and fighting spirit. Arsenal looked very shaky in a UCL loss in Zagreb and they never really fared well on Stamford Bridge. Look for Costa to score a goal on Saturday. That makes him a very solid GW6 FPL captain pick.

Lukaku, Everton

Everton is yet to concede a goal away from home after two matches and that is really good record for them, but they also looked really well counter attacking. This was especially the case when they outclassed Southampton. This was a game where Lukaku shined. He is a guy that is more than capable of scoring against Swansea. He is strong and quick and he should be able to expose Swansea’s defence. Everton is coming from a nice home win over Chelsea. This was a match where Naismith solved the game coming from a bench early to replace injured Besic. This means Lukaku has two partners in attack to help him out – Kone and Naismith. There is also young Barkley who is playing on a high level so far. All of these players are going to be watched carefully by Swansea’s defenders but away from home Lukaku’s physical ability and raw talent should be the key for Everton.

Gomis, Swansea

Gomis finally stopped his amazing run of four EPL matches in which he scored a goal but I can see him returning in GW6. That makes him a decent FPL captain choice. Swansea welcomes Everton, team that is yet to concede away from home. However, it is still a good opportunity for Swansea to get back on track after a loss. Ayew looked really good so far but Gomis is further up the pitch and I am expecting him to score against Everton at home.

David Silva, Man City

Silva missed the last EPL match for Man City, but he should be ready to face West Ham. This looks like an easy match for Man City on paper. They looked really good so far in the Premier League. However, their confidence could be shattered with UCL home loss. Also, West Ham shouldn’t be underestimated as they already defeated two top teams away from home. Aguero is not in a good goal scoring form so Silva should do his best to lead City to victory. He has been a really consistent performer and great FPL asset so far and continues to look that way even with the arrival of extra creativity in De Bruyne and Sterling. 4 assist so far under his belt in as many matches and I expect from Silva to continue in the same manner. He has the ability to unlock West Ham’s defence so I am choosing him as a decent FPL captain option for GW6.

Christian Benteke, Liverpool

Last but not least, my final GW6 FPL captain pick is Christian Benteke. He is the only player on the list above that I actually own so he is my personal captain pick at the same time. Liverpool plays against Norwich at home which is extremely favourable match up for them. Add to that the fact Liverpool lost their last two matches conceding total of 6 goals in the process, this will be the match Liverpool will take very seriously. They need to get all the points and they will rely on Benteke to deliver. He scored a very nice goal in Manchester last week and I can see him scoring again. He did not play today in Europa League match, so he should be rested and ready to go on Sunday. Coutinho returns to line-up as well following a one match suspension. That is a good news for Benteke as Brazilian is very competent of passing the perfect ball in just the right moment to create a good chance for him. Look for Benteke to score at least one and if Liverpool keeps a clean sheet there is a good chance Benteke will get extra FPL bonus point or two. He is my GW6 FPL captain and if you have him in your team as well, you should also consider him for an armband.

Bonus GW6 FPL captain tip – Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal

It is really hard to recommend Sanchez as a FPL captain at this point considering he has not returned anything to his patient FPL owners, but this is a world class player that will start producing sooner or later. He was also involved in a loss UCL loss yesterday in Zagreb but I am not concerned about his fitness level as he started playing for Arsenal from Gameweek 1 even though he was expected to return later due to his International duties over the summer. This could be the reason why he hasn’t been delivering so far but he should be able to turn it around soon. What better opportunity than to score against Chelsea on Stamford Bridge. It is true that Chelsea looked really bad defensively so far, but it takes a very talented player to score against them at Stamford Bridge. Alexis is that guy. Even though he didn’t show much so far I see him as a most dangerous player from Arsenal. It is a gamble, but Alexis could score against Chelsea.

Conclusion
