The third round of Turkish Airlines Euroleague is ahead of us and we will be offering you some Euroleague fantasy tips as usual. This week we have prepared 3 players on every position for you to consider. Let’s start and hopefully you’ll enjoy our week 3 Euroleague Fantasy Challenge tips and profit from them.
Euroleague fantasy tips – week 3 best value players: PG’s
Taylor Rochestie: You can get him for 56.4 credits now, just before a home game against Sassari. A home game against Sassari usually means very high numbers for the home team’s players. Rochestie seems to a little bit underpriced at the moment and I think this is the right time to be adding him. The game between Maccabi and Sassari should be very fast and high scoring, so big numbers are very probable. Rochestie is in a pretty good shape at the moment and I think the time to purchase him is right now.
Heiko Schaffartzik: The PG with the biggest PIR average so far (22.9) for only 43.6 credits, need I say more?! If you are looking for a raise in credits, get Heiko, but if you are looking for a good performance, also get Heiko. He was the most bought player of the last round. He should be within the top 5 this week too. He is a strong Euroleague fantasy tip for round 3.
Jacob Pullen: I expect Cedevita to get trashed in Istanbul, so this may seem like a weird choice, but I have my reasons. I expect Efes to break Cedevita with their offense rather than defense so Cedevita’s player has a decent chance to put up some numbers too. He seems to have a lot of authorities from coach Mrsic and he sometimes seem like he is playing his private game. He will probably be finishing a lot of plays by himself in Istanbul and I think he could have himself a nice game. He could be pulling a one man show once again and Huertel and Granger who should be guarding him are not such defenders to shut him down. He averaged 18 PIR so far and his price is now 50 credits. Will he be raising his price in Istanbul? I think he just might.
Shooting guards and small forwards – value for EFC week 3
Paul Zipser: The young German forward is a very good choice if you need a cheap player. He plays a lot of minutes but, costs only 26.6 credits. Bayern is playing at home and they are playing Strasbourg. Good chance for Zipser to pull down some rebounds and to knock down some shots. I trust him, especially for such a low price.
Alex Abrines: 32.5 is a very low price and a price that does not reflect the possibilities of this player. He has a big enough role on this team to have a great performance at home against such a big rival like Panathinaikos. I expect Abrines to go crazy this week. I have a hunch. trust me on this. At least it won’t cost you much.
Alexey Shved: Khimki is playing at home and it would not be so strange to see them scoring close to a 100 points there. They are playing Zvezda, a team that plays good defense, but Khimki’s players have got enough class to break down any defense, especially at home. Shved is certainly one of their best players and I see this as a great chance for him to have great performance and raise his price. 56 credits for Alexey.
Week 3 Fantasy Euroleague Power Forwards and Centers
Alex Tyus: Instead of Alex Tyus I might as well put another PF from Efes. Meaning Derrick Brown or Dario Saric should be very good choices for this week too. I already explained in my previous article why I like adding PF’s from teams that are playing against Cedevita. They have a lot of troubles defending that position against Euroleague teams. I suggested Will Daniel’s from Limoges last round and it proved to be the right choice once again. This time, there is an additional reason to add a PF from Cedevita’s opposition. It seems that Tomislav Zubcic has terminated his contract with the team, so Cedevita is down to Karlo Zganec and Marko Arapovic on the PF position. Both are young and not jet ready for this level, especially to play against the player like Brown, Saric or Tyus. Why did I choose Tyus over those other two? Well for starters, he is the cheapest one, only 48.4 credits and therefore best option of the three for Euroleague fantasy tips – week 3. He also seems to be in very good shape at the moment, utilizing his playing time in the best possible way. Cedevita’s player just can’t match his physicality. He was Efes’ top performer this week in the Turkish championship game against Banvit. Efes looks really powerful this year while Cedevita is having all sorts of trouble. A blowout by Efes is the realistic outcome of this game and any player from Efes you should add would hardly be a mistake. Keep an eye on Efes’ wide rotation and the fact that coach Ivkovic is often forced to rest a couple of players.
Trevor Mbakwe: Another player from Maccabi. By default, a center that is playing Sassari is a good choice. He should get a lot of rebounds after Sassari’s numerous shoots. He should also convert Rochestie’s assists into powerful dunks. 46 credits is a bargain for him at the moment. He had a 25 PIR game against Unicaja last round and I don’t expect anything less this week.
Kenny Gabriel: The American forward looks to be in great shape. His PIR average is 20.9 after the fist two rounds. It is a very good number, especially when you consider the fact that his team played Barcelona and Panathinaikos. He was pulling his team in OAKA arena against PAO and was the only one who was putting up some kind of a fight. Karsiyaka is playing at home I expect Gabriel to be fired up and ready to set the crowd on fire with some of his powerful slams.
