Last week we had some great Euroleague Fantasy Challenge tips like Mbakwe, Gabriel or Pullen and some disappointments like Schaffartzik or Tyus. This week there are some big European names for very low prices in expectancy of very important games. Take a look at my mega-team and try to spot an MVP candidate for round 4 among them.
Euroleague Fantasy Challenge tips – week 4: Bringing out the big guns
Sergio Rodriguez: “El Chacho” has not been performing at an expected level much like the whole Real Madrid team so far this season. That fact lowered his price just enough for him to be an excellent pick for round 4 of Euroleague Fantasy Challenge. Rodriguez struggled just like most of the teammates in away games this season but while he had a pretty good performance in the only Real’s home game of the season against Zvezda. That game was a blowout, but the fact is “El Chacho” dished out 11 assists in that game. Real is playing Bayern at home this week and they will need their most creative player to at his best. Bayern is playing very good this season and I expect Real to take this game seriously. Rodriguez will cost you 46.1 credits and I see him as one of the best buys of the round 4. Real’s player are always a good choice when playing at home. A player of “El Chacho’s” class for such a low price before a home game such as this, is a bargain.
Darius Adams: Another undervalued player that is playing at home, following a monster performance in round 3. He was honoured with the MVP title of round 3 for his 29 PIR performance in France last week. 8 points and 9 assists is what got him the MVP honors. Laboral is playing in Vittoria against Efes, which has been struggling on the defensive end so far this season. The two of their best guards, Huertel and Granger, are not such good defenders, so there should be enough space for Adams to go crazy with his assists and shoots once again. Adams is playing with great confidence at the moment and I consider him a steal for only 41.6 credits.
Malcolm Delaney: If you are selling some expensive players and looking for a “sure thing” when it comes to PIR production, I think Delaney is te man you are looking for. Delany has been on fire on the offensive end averaging as high as 20 points in the firs three games. He is one of the best scorers in Europe and his price is skyrocketing at the moment. The price is 87.29, but he is averaging 23.8 PIR, so I can’s look past him for this round. Lokomotiv is playing at home against Pinar Karsiyka and I expect Delany to have great numbers once again in what should be a high-paced game. He was just named the MVP for October and I don’t see him slowing down in November.
Jaycee Carroll: Another player from Real Madrid this week. Carroll is a player that performs way better when playing at then away. He is pretty much capable of having a monster performance when playing in Madrid. A “must win” home game is in front of Real and I expect them to be at the top of their game. Rudy Fernandez and Jeffery Taylor are not at the top of their game at the moment which makes Carroll one of Real’s “go to guys”. 38.3 is a rather small price for the three point machine from the USA which makes him a good Euroleague Fantasy Challenge pick for week 4.
Vassilis Spanoulis: Probably a risky pick because of his low average of only 5.8. So, if you are chasing credits you should avoid him.But if you are looking for a good performance this week, Spanoulis could be a great choice for reasonable price of only 55.3 Olympiacos is playing their first game at “peace and friendship hall”(the game against Cedevita took place on Crete, because of Oly’s fine) this season and I expect V-Span to go crazy. He should be able to draw a lot of fouls from Limoges’ inexperienced guard’s and to dish out a loot of alley up assists to high-flying center like Young. Spanoulis showed he still got it, by making a clutch shot last week in Milano and I think it is time for a big game from him when it comes to PIR too.
Jordan Farmar: He hasn’t been performing they way I expected him to so far, but is is only a matter of time when he will bring a big performance. Maccabi will be travelling to Bamberg this week and they will need Farmar’s quality an experience to have a shot in winning on a tough road trip to Germany. Farmar is now heavily underpriced for only 49.1 credits. Now is the time to get him.
Ekpe Udoh: Probably the most undervalued player there is at the moment. He did not play in round one due to some back problems, but he returned to action in the second round in Strasbourg. Fenerbahce was blown off court in that game and the whole team performed pretty bad. Last week he had a very good performance against Real Madrid with 15 PIR. I expect him to continue performing at the level from that second game. He is getting a lot of minutes from coach Obradovic and his price will be just going up if you ask me. Fenerbahce is going on a tough trip to Belgrade, but Udoh has got the quality for big numbers even in a great atmosphere in Belgrade arena. He stands at 33.2 credits at the moment and he is one of the best buys of the round.
Miroslav Raduljica: Panathinaikos has been suffering a lot of injury problems lately and they will need their best players to step up. PAO will be visiting Zielona Gora this week and they will need guys like Raduljica to bring their A game to beat the Polish team. Kuzmic and James Gist are having some injury problems and Raduljica should get a lot of playing time. He has got more quality then Zielona Gora’s big man and I expect him to draw some fouls, pull down some rebounds and score a lot of points in Poland this week. For only 52 credits, Raduljica is an excellent choice.
Dario Saric: The game in Vittoria should be an up-tempo game and Saric really likes that kind of games. I see him rebounding like crazy on both ends of the floor in this one. He is not getting the playing time he had hoped for, but he is doing very well with what he gets. Efes is in for a tough game in Vittoria this week and I expect a great performance by Saric. With enough playing time, he could go crazy.
Victor Claver: Probably everyone already has him, but it does not hurt to repeat once again. For 45.6 credits, you will be getting a player that is currently averaging 18 PIR. His team is playing Karsiyaka at home and another good performance by Claver is very likely. He concludes our Euroleague Challenge Fantasy tips for week 4.
