Gameweek 18 captain tips Fantasy Premier League

Welcome to Gameweek 18 captain tips Fantasy Premier League article! We will help you identify highest scoring players for the gameweek to come. We have prepared 5 picks for you to consider. All of these players have high FPL ownership and chances are you have at least one of them. Last week we were 4 out of 5, but unfortunately, our top captain tip blanked. It was Georrginio Wijnaldum who couldn’t get it going against Aston Villa on a soaked pitch in Newcastle. We look to do even better for game week 18 and here’s our top 5 captain tips list in GW18.

Gameweek 18 captain tips Fantasy Premier League – Top 5 list

#1. Riyad Mahrez

It is hard to ignore Mahrez after he scored double digit FPL points three gameweeks in a row. Leicester has a difficult match on paper as they travel to face Liverpool. However, Reds have been struggling lately and they are especially vulnerable at the back. I can see Mahrez returning something again and he is a rather safe captain pick. You can also consider Vardy, but Mahrez was actually a bit more impressive and he’s penalty taker in this team. No more danger of letting Vardy execute.

#2. Harry Kane

Kane is my second captain tip in gameweek 18 as he returned to scoring ways against Southampton. This time, their opponent is Norwich. This team raised a few eyebrows with a win at Old Trafford, but Spurs won’t let another surprise. Not after their last home loss to Newcastle. Kane could score a goal or two in a likely home win.

#3. Mesut Ozil

Amazing stuff from Ozil again as he returned two assists against Man City. Southampton is the team in a deep crisis at the moment and I can see Arsenal continuing their run of good results. Ozil is their main man these days and I would recommend him yet again. I also believe Walcott and Ramsey are good captain picks, but their ownership is not high so they fall into a differential captain tips category.

#4. Romelu Lukaku

One more player that is showing great consistency is Romelu Lukaku. He has scored in 7 consecutive matches and I don’t see any reason for him stopping now. Everton is not playing in a good form overall, but they can score against Newcastle. Lukaku is their main weapon and has the ability to collect FPL bonus points. He is a fairly sure captain pick.

#5. Kevin De Bruyne

My last captain tip for gameweek 18 is Kevin De Bruyne. Despite losing the last match, I’ve seen some positives in Man City performance. Good thing for them is getting Aguero back. While there are fantasy blogs out there recommending Aguero, I would advise De Bruyne instead. He actually looks rather good in a loss to Arsenal. He had a couple of nice runs forward and he usually performed much better at home. Sunderland (H) is a good chance for him to score and/or assist his teammates. Aguero is not certain to play full minutes, especially with Leicester match on the horizon. Same goes for David Silva. This is why De Bruyne looks like a better pick.

Risky Gameweek 18 captain tips

There are plenty of options to choose from when deciding on your FPL captain in GW18. I already mentioned my top 5 picks above, but I would like to share a couple of more tips with you. These are maybe a bit more risky picks but if you have a good feeling about them, you just might go for it. First one is Wijnaldum. He was actually my main captain pick last week, but he turned out to be a bad one. However, all of the reasons for captaining him apply again. He looked really good in a home matches so far and Everton is conceding a lot of goals. Put two and two together and you have a decent captain pick.

One more player that is maybe a bit more inconsistent is Coutinho. I see him as the most dangerous Liverpool player this season. He could have a good game against Leicester in gameweek 18. Question is, do you feel lucky?

Three more risky captain picks in gameweek 18 are Martial, Willian and Arnautovic. Martial finally scored in last game week and I hope it gave him much needed confidence. Stoke (A) is not an easy match, but Martial has got the talent, with some confidence he could score. Chelsea played well after Mourinho got sacked. Are they going to keep it up? Who knows, but Willian has been solid all season long. Finally, Arnautovic. This guy is inconsistent, but he tends to be fired up in big matches. I am tipping him to have a good game against Man Utd. He could be a great pick, at least in daily fantasy leagues.

That is it guys. This was my list of top 5 gameweek 18 Fantasy Premier League captain tips. I even added a couple of speculative tips that could return big FPL points. Hope you liked it, and if you did please consider sharing. I wish you all Merry Christmas and green arrows in GW18 🙂
