We are still under the impression of FPL GW18, but it is already the time to move on. In this Gameweek 19 captain tips Fantasy Premier League article we suggest top 5 players that could return big and give you a nice boost. GW18 was a difficult one, as most of the big guns failed to deliver. Lukaku, Vardy, Mahrez and Ozil blanked. How about gameweek 19? Who to captain? This should be another difficult gameweek to predict a good captain. That is why making the right choice is even more important. Let’s examine our options.
Gameweek 19 captain tips Fantasy Premier League – Top 5 picks
#1. GW19 captain pick – Harry Kane
Kane was my pick #2 last round, but I moved him on top for this GW as he had a good game. He is now away from White Hart Lane, but I don’t see a big issue there. Watford is having a great season, but I feel they might be fatigued after a difficult trip to Stamford Bridge. They have to play a top team with just 2 days of rest. Tottenham has more rotation potential and I believe Kane will be on target again. He is my top captain tip for FPL gameweek 19.
#2. GW19 captain pick – Mesut Ozil
I am placing Ozil on the second place because he might be a bit tired. Arsenal has a really favourable matchup against Bournemouth to bounce back from an ugly loss at Southampton. However, there were rumours of Ozil missing that match due to the fatigue. He did play for 90 minutes, so that is a good sign. Arsenal could still look to preserve some energy and I have a feeling Ozil could be subbed first if Arsenal should take the lead early. I actually think Walcott could be even better captain choice from Arsenal team. His ownership is low so he falls into differential captain category.
#3. GW19 captain pick – Kevin De Bruyne
De Bruyne had a big game against Sunderland and he jumped to the 3rd spot on my list. My only problem with him is the fact he played much better at home so far. Leicester seems like a difficult match for City, but they can’t rotate their players much. I believe that could be the huge problem for them. Man City can make up to 5 changes in their team that defeated Sunderland and still field a strong squad. Leicester doesn’t have that privilege. This is why I would avoid captaining Mahrez or Vardy in GW19. Especially Vardy who is dealing with an illness. On the other hand, Aguero should be considered as he is likely to start after being rested on Saturday. But I am tipping De Bruyne to return the most FPL points in this particular match.
#4. GW19 captain pick – Christian Benteke
Benteke didn’t start against Leicester, but he was introduced in the first half when Origi got injured. Because of the injury problems in Liverpool team, he is likely to start in gameweek 19 against Sunderland. He scored a winning goal against Leicester and I expect him to be on target again. Coutinho is always a captain option in this team as well, but his inconsistency make him just a differential captain tip as few FPL managers choose to trust him.
#5. GW19 captain pick – Odion Ighalo
Finally to conclude this Gameweek 19 captain tips Fantasy Premier League article I would recommend Ighalo. His form is just incredible. I expect Watford to struggle against more energetic team when they welcome Tottenham on Monday. However, this doesn’t mean Ighalo won’t score a goal. His form cannot be ignored and I am placing him on the fifth spot.
Risky Gameweek 19 FPL captain tips
This is the list of extra 5 captain tips for you in FPL GW19 if you are looking for a differential player. First one that I would recommend is Delle Alli. He has been in great form lately and he just might keep it up against Watford. Chadli could get his chance if Spurs decide to rotate, but that would be a really speculative pick.
I mentioned Walcott above, and he could easily deliver against Bournemouth. This team doesn’t have plenty of rotation possibilities and they could suffer a big defeat if Arsenal chooses to respond to their big loss in GW18.
How about Arnautovic? He scored a great goal in a win against Man Utd. He had a couple of more good chances as well. I can see him delivering again. It won’t be an easy game against Everton, but then again, I don’t expect Toffees to keep a clean sheet.
WBA seems to be in bad shape at the moment. They have to bounce back against Newcastle. But can they do it? Newcastle looks much better lately, despite their heartbreaking loss to Everton. Wijnaldum is a dangerous player that could find the target against WBA.
Finally, I would like to mention Coutinho as a last differential captain tip. I like how this guy plays, he is a talented footballer who understands the game. However, he is very frustrating player to own in Fantasy Premier League. He could blank or score a couple against Sunderland. You never know. I do have a good feeling about him for GW19 and if you agree you can consider to captain him as well. While Henderson could be on target as well, Coutinho offers much more attacking threat.
