Friday night is the best time to tinker with FPL team, so we bring you our list of Gameweek 26 captain tips for Fantasy Premier League to help you out a bit. Below is our list of top 5 FPL captain tips in for GW26. Enjoy!
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 26 captain tips
#1. GW26 captain pick – Sergio Aguero
Aguero is my main captain pick once again. Man City has been playing good against Spurs in the recent years. I expect them to bounce back from an ugly loss to Leicester. Aguero has scored 6 goals in last 4 league matches. While he is healthy, he is the best attacker in the league. He is apparently healthy now and I see no reason for him to blank. Big ownership and popularity among FPL managers when looking who to captain guarantee you won’t make a huge mistake with him.
#2. GW26 captain pick – Wayne Rooney
Rooney has been playing exceptionally well as of late. His tally of 5 goals with 3 assists over the last 6 matches are respectable. United managed 3 wins and two draws in that span, which is an indication of a good form. They shouldn’t have many problems with a poor team of Sunderland. They just can’t defend well, not even at home. This is a good chance for Rooney to extend his nice run of form and to return handful of FPL points in gameweek 26. He is on the second place of my list.
#3. GW26 captain pick – Dimitri Payet
West Ham travels to face Norwich. This team is leaking goals at an alarming rate. I can see the Hammers putting the couple of them past Declan Rudd. They should be in the good mood following the FA Cup win over Liverpool. Payet has been blanking lately, but he is a menace when given some space. He should get plenty against Norwich. They conceded the total of 16 goals in last 5 league appearances and that is something that speaks for itself. Payet is a good captain pick for GW26.
#4. GW26 captain pick – Firmino
I chose not to trust Firmino in the last round. That obviously backfired. In game week 26, however, Liverpool has a good chance to win at Aston Villa. With Firmino playing OOP as an attacker against weakest team of the league, there is a good chance he’ll score. This is why he is on my captain list for gameweek 26.
#5. GW26 captain pick – Mesut Ozil
I really had a tough time deciding which player to place on the last spot. I was contemplating between Sanchez and Mahrez, but finally went for Ozil. He returned to scoring ways in the last round and I hope he continues. Sanchez had a great game at Leicester earlier this season but he still didn’t show a clear sign of improvement. Maybe that will happen against Leicester in GW26, but until then I would trust Ozil as he has assisting potential as well as goalscoring. Mahrez is an interesting option from the opposition, but it should be a hard match for Leicester. He did inspire against Man City, but Arsenal could be a harder task for Mahrez and his Leicester.
Conclusion
Above is my list of top 5 FPL captain tips for gameweek 26. There are some other interesting options like Barkley, Afobe and Arnautovic that just didn’t qualify, but if you are looking for some differential captains you could try with one of them. Lukaku, Vardy and Kane are not on the list as well. Lukaku is not in the best form at the moment and he doesn’t have a good record against WBA. If you need a second opinion, you can check FFP’s article here. Elsewhere, Vardy and Kane have difficult fixtures. What do you think? Who is your captain option in GW26?
