Gameweek 34 captain tips article is where we provide our top 5 list of players projected to shine in FPL GW34. This gameweek brings us a lot of action as 10 teams are facing a DGW. This is why teams like Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City or West Ham are very interesting considering the abundance of FPL potential some of their players possess. Let’s explore what options we have when looking for a gameweek 34 FPL captain.
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 34 tips – top 5
Arsenal has two home matches in this gameweek which makes their players prime candidates for the first place on my list. Arsenal blew it a while back when they lost chances for major trophies this season. This is something that repeats year in year out but at the same time, Arsenal usually manages to finish the season strong. Crystal Palace and WBA, both at home are good chance to get 6 points and the likes of Ozil, Iwobi and even Bellerin are looking like a good captain options. However, I am going with Alexis Sanchez.
GW34 captain pick #1 – Alexis Sanchez
I expected much more from the explosive Chilean attacking midfielder this season. He had a very slow start and was slowed down even more with an injury. But he looks good lately. With three goals and as many assists in his last 5 league matches, he does have a lot of appeal coming into a DGW. With both matches at home against low placed teams that are fairly safe to stay up, Alexis is my main FPL captain tip for gameweek 34. Ozil and Iwobi are interesting options as well, but I believe Sanchez has more potential.
GW34 captain pick #2 – Dimitri Payet
Dimitri is the heart of this West Ham team fighting for the UCL spot. I can see him driving his team forward in a DGW situation. The first match is at Leicester. That doesn’t look like a good matchup for the Hammers considering how solid Foxes looked lately. However, Payet is very accustomed to counter attacking style of football and with his excellent free-kick ability, I can see him getting something in this match. If he fails, there’s always a chance to redeem himself at home against Watford. Hat-trick hero against Arsenal, Carroll, is another interesting option from West Ham. He could be the guy if you are looking for a differential captain.
GW34 captain pick #3 – Chris Smalling
I believe this is the first time this season defender made the way to my captain picks list. However, I do believe there is a strong possibility Smalling will return at least one clean sheet. Man Utd is coming from an ugly loss at White Hart Lane, but two teams they are facing in this GW shouldn’t be as deadly as the Spurs were. United has two home matches against relegated Villans and fairly toothless Crystal Palace team. This is a nice opportunity for them to connect two clean sheets. Even if they manage only one, Smalling should get at least 8 FPL points. That is a good deal if you ask me.
GW34 captain pick #4 – Firmino
Although Coutinho has been looking better lately, it seems that Klopp prefers Firmino over him. Liverpool is yet another team with a DGW and I can see Firmino scoring big in those two matches combined. Reds travel to face Bournemouth and they have the fierce local derby against the Toffees at home. Both matches are good opportunity for the Brazilian.
GW34 captain pick #5 – Georginio Wijnuldum
Finally, for my last gameweek 34 captain tip, I am going to recommend Wijnaldum. This one is risky guys, but it just might pay off. Wijnaldum has been quiet for a long time now, however, Newcastle doesn’t have anything to lose right now. I believe they will go all out looking for a win in front of their fans. They’ve got two shots in GW34. The first one against Swansea looks like a good matchup on paper. After that, they face Man City. This should be a difficult task, but Newcastle has been playing surprisingly well against big teams this year. If you are looking for a nice differential you can consider Wijnaldum as not many of FPL managers would do the same.
