Gameweek 37 is upon us and we have another set of FPL captain tips for you. Last week was a bad one and we look to improve. There are a couple of teams playing twice this gameweek so picking players from these teams make sense just as looking for a captain there. Let’s examine our fantasy captain options in GW37.
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37 captain tips – top 5
When looking for a proper gameweek 37 captain, one team stands out the most for me: West Ham. They have two home matches in the single GW and they have couple of very interesting players capable of returning big. If you are looking for a differential, you might look for Norwich players. They too have a double GW and both of the matches are in front of their fans. They are looking to avoid relegation which means they will work extra hard to score and keep a clean sheet. And there is also a handful of players to choose from Liverpool and Man Utd. Let’s see what my top five captains for GW37 list looks like.
GW37 captain pick #1 – Harry Kane
Despite all of the above, the first name on my captain list is Harry Kane. He has “only” one match to play in GW37, but it is a home match against Southampton. Spurs have something to prove in front of the fans after losing the title race on Monday. Their coach is welcoming his former team. Southampton has been conceding a lot of goals lately. Spurs can play their game without any pressure and I can see them scoring a few goals. Kane is having the great season yet again despite a slow start. I can see him getting on the score sheet.
GW37 captain pick #2 – Andy Carroll
The only reason why Carroll is not on the top of my list is the fact he is not a 100% sure to start both GW37 matches. Other than that he is playing in a good form lately and there’s a good chance he’ll return something in each of the West Ham’s two matches. Both are played at home and big Andy should be in a good mood. This was a great season for the Hammers and their fans will back them heavily in both matches. Payet and Noble should both be considered as well, but Carroll has the most goalscoring threat at the moment and this is why he is getting the armband.
GW37 captain pick #3 – Martial
Martial is an interesting prospect for GW37. United has two away matches, but both should present a good chance for Martial to return something. He is a very quick player and he might take advantage of Norwich, desperate team looking to save their neck. Other match is more of a challenge, but United has nothing to lose. Martial scored against Leicester and I look for him to be on target again, at least in one of the two matches. Enough to consider him for the captain.
GW37 captain pick #4 – Vardy
Vardy and company already secured the title and I expect an easy match for them against Everton. The toffees are in a bad situation at the moment. They are coping with multiple injuries and lot of out-of-form players. Lukaku and Barkley being the ones that stand out. I don’t see them as a team capable of stopping ecstatic Leicester in front of their crowd. Vardy has been a phenomenal whole season and I can see him coming out strong following a couple of games of due to the suspension.
GW37 captain pick #5 – Sanchez
Sanchez is the last player I am going to recommend this week. Arsenal has to play away at Man City, but this doesn’t have to be a difficult match for them. City is a bit down following an UCL knockout. Pellegrini might decide to give some players a rest. Obviously, City shouldn’t take it easy as they could be in a danger of losing 4th spot, but I can see Arsenal having a good game nevertheless. Obviously, I could also place Firmino on this list, but at the moment of posting this article, Liverpool hasn’t even started their EL match. Let’s see how they perform and possibly consider putting Firmino instead of Sanchez. For now, Sanchez is my suggestion as he is am an excellent player capable of scoring in Manchester and taking maximum FPL bonus points.
GW37 differentials
I mentioned above how Norwich could be a good place to seek differentials. Jerome does look like an interesting option if you are looking to gamble with a cheap forward. Otherwise, Hoolahan might be a good purchase. Elsewhere, if you are looking for a decent forward with a good chance of returning the handful of FPL point you might turn to either of Sunderland duo, Defoe and Borini. They have double game weeks in front of them, with two promising matches. Troy Deeney is also worth mentioning as he scored a brace last time out. He also has a double same week in front of him.
